We had a good time on Stephen's birthday party. Of course he's had several - one for each side of the family, one for his class at school, and one for friends. Kristy found a cake mold (well, small cake/large cupcake size) in the shape of Clemson tiger paws. She made chocolate cake batter (which turned out more like brownie, which is fine with me) and made some paws and cupcakes. Result:
Here we are "cutting the cake."
Stephen and Gavin - one of his friends. Stephen is an expert present opener.
We ordered a Clemson Picnic package to go with our Clemson Tiger theme. We got some temporary tattoos - this is just the first that Stephen used.
On the actual day of his birthday, Stephen got all of daddy's old Legos. I think he was a bit overwhelmed and didn't know where to start.
One more thing - the week before his friends party the high temperatures were in the low 80's. That Saturday of course the high was around 62. Oh well.

That's all the Legos you collected??? Man, you've had 33+ YEARS to do right by your son... I think he was just disappointed there weren't MORE. Heh, heh, heh...
"Stephen got all of daddy's old Legos."
Best. Present. Ever.
No doubt you will be "helping him build things" quite often now, right?
To ferg: Sorry, I just couldn't fit the whole shipping container in the picture.
To Brian: No doubt. I'm attempting to remember to help him develop his own skills as I relive my childhood. Of course, he wants to make the bigger, complicated things so that's a bit difficult. And I just have them all in one big tub so we (I) have to dig a lot. Still, he shows much promise. He made a few small "spaceships" on his own today (I use the term loosely, but I want to encourage his creativity).
The Brick is strong with this one.
Jeff, believe me, we have much more than that. This is the mommy who has helped clean up a few times speaking...
I cannot believe Stephen is 4! Sweet baby Stephen who we visited (with sweet baby Elizabeth!) in the hospital. Sweet baby Stephen who urinated on my (probably more my fault since I didn't know how to change boy diapers) on Halloween when he was just a couple days old. Sweet Stephen! We love and miss you! Happy birthday!!!
Oh, and the Clempson party looked super cute!!! I did an Aggie party for Curtis' birthday this year. Does that say something? College themes for the 4 year old and the 30 year old!
Of course I'm joking. I've played Legos more this past year than the past several combined. Wilkes' building ability is steadily improving. Find the MOCPages on the web. Great for ideas. As for keeping th cleaned up... I got two of those flat rubbermaid boxes with wheels (like for putting under beds), and the clutter has gone down significantly.
